I was so grateful for the opportunity to go to Audrey's workshop this past weekend! It was an amazing time of learning, sharing, and inspiration. She has been a photography hero of mine for several years, so it was a true delight to meet her in person and be able to spend time learning from her. The other photographers I met were also amazing - a phenomenal weekend!

I am looking forward to bringing that new insight to all of my upcoming sessions. Here are a few peeks from behind the scenes at our workshop.

This was a great week for babies! What an adorable three month old - Baby W. He is such a cutie, and was a champ about all the locations and outfits his sweet Mama and I wanted to capture. Watching them play together, snuggle up together - and being able to catch those moments for them to cherish forever - well that's what makes me love what I do!

It is such an amazing thing to welcome a new little one into the family. The M. family is ready and waiting for their newest little guy to make his entrance. I was extra-excited to photograph this session, as I will be the proud auntie just days from now! After watching these wonderful nephews grow up, I just can't wait to meet Baby G. Adoptive Families Magazine {Cincinnati Family Photographer}

I am so excited to have an article and a photo published in the May/June issue of Adoptive Families magazine. It was a piece I wrote last year about how difficult it is to build a dollhouse family for our daughter who is adopted from China. Apparently it struck a chord, and the magazine decided to highlight dolls and toys for children of different races. What a joy to contribute to the discussion on how to raise healthy, happy adopted children. My friend Traci Smith is the photographer who captured these shots of Emma and I playing with our dollhouse. Her first photo here is also published with the article. The second photo here is one I shot of Traci and her beautiful daughter Jaden (who is one of Emma's favorite playmates). Thank you Traci! Happy Mother's Day! {Cincinnati Family Photographer}

To all the moms out there celebrating today ~ Happy Mother's Day! I hope it is filled with loads of joy. I like to imagine us all doing a big Mom "Cheers" together ~ lifting our pieces of cold toast with too much jelly and made with great love. Of course we'd be wearing macaroni necklaces and reading construction paper cards with wobbly writing. And we are smiling with the gratitude that is keenly aware that motherhood is a privilege and a gift... even when the laundry threatens to swallow us whole.

Today I am reminded of what an enormous blessing it is to be a mom! I am so grateful that I have the chance to be Mama to Hannah, CJ and Emma. It is one of the deepest joys in my life, and I do not take it for granted.

And I am also quietly humbled as I think of my Emma's birthmom in China who chose to extend to her baby daughter the gift of life. How thankful I am that we are entrusted to love and raise this cute spitfire. We are changed forever.

It is always such a joy and a privilege to make new baby friends. Every time I get to meet a sweet little bundle, I am in awe of the miracle of new life all over again. This week, it was even more incredible because some of my dearest friends finally met the son they'd hoped and prayed they'd find through the journey of adoption. It is truly awesome to watch a family knit together by love and faith.

Just a quick peek and mom brag of my Hannah's prom. I know I am totally biased, but she just takes my breath away! It seems just one minute ago she was playing dress up in Disney princess dresses, and now... well, there just are not words. We are so proud that she is this beautiful inside as well.

Welcome to the new blog for Julie Staub Photography! I am so glad you stopped by. My name is Julie Staub, and I am excited to be launching my photography blog. I have loved photography ever since I spent my allowance to buy a blue Poloroid camera back in the day. Now I shoot digitally with wonderful Nikon equipment, but being able to capture an image that is meaningful still is a mix of pure joy and delight just like I had as a kid. Being able to offer that to others has been such a blessing in my life, and I am looking forward to growing the circle of those children, teens and families ready to photograph their own amazing adventures.
